Job Summary: KXII-TV News 12 is seeking a news producer for our Sherman newsroom to help bring the stories that matter to Texomans into their homes and onto our digital platforms. This is a full-time, behind-the-scenes position working directly under the News Director with reporters, photographers, producers, and anchors. You'll learn the ropes from an experienced, award-winning news team, and you’ll help put together stories to air in the market’s top-rated newscasts, as well as produce content for our digital products, as well as update & maintain the station's social media accounts. ˑNews producing ˑNewswriting (both digital and broadcast) ˑVideo editing ˑWriting, posting and updating news stories for the station's digital platforms ˑUpdating and maintaining the station's social media accounts ˑOperating the teleprompter ˑCoordinating with senior producers and news crews in the field ˑCoordinating live shots ˑCorresponding with network and regional producers at other stations sending & receiving content ˑAssisting in answering the station's news tip hotline calls

Requirements:

The right candidate will be a strong news writer and video editor, a competent problem-solver, a quick thinker, and a good communicator. Must work well under pressure and on deadline. Knowledge of electronic news gathering & non-linear editing required. Knowledge of broadcast and digital news writing, as well as social media best practices required.
