Job Summary: The News Anchor/Sports Reporter primary responsibilities includes anchoring of our Late Edition newscasts at 10 and 11pm, writing, reporting, shooting, editing and doing live shots for both broadcast and our digital platforms. This position requires solid reporting on all types of daily stories with an emphasis on sports with accuracy and quality. The position also requires the ability to cover breaking news. Responsibilities include the following: • Shift: 3 pm to 11 pm • Provide sports and news content for the 5:30pm, 6pm and 10 pm sportscasts. • Shoot and edit packages and game video to be used on the daily sportscasts. • Anchor news and sports for the late shows. • Produce and anchor Sports Desk. • Anchor the 5:30pm and 6pm sportscast when Rene on vacation. • Post stories to the web and contribute web content. • If not needed in sports on slow days help news in any way possible. • Look for live shots for the 6pm sportscast. • Filling any gaps/holes you see in the newsroom. • Responding to any breaking news. • Helping people if they need it. • Searching for future stories • Sending an email at the end of the day to News Director and Assistant News Director listing what you accomplished that day. • All other duties assigned by management.

Requirements:

• College degree in journalism or related field preferred. • Position requires a clean driving record and a valid driver’s license. • The ability to carry 30 to 50 pounds of equipment. • Professional appearance a must. • A general knowledge of the use of television news cameras (P2, Sony, etc.) • A general knowledge of newscast production systems (ENPS, iNews, etc.) ◘ Come join our team, apply online at https://gray.tv/careers#currentopenings by searching the station call letters (WAGM-TV) and attach resume
